Pleasant Valley Conservancy

Restored oak savanna and prairie in southern Wisconsin, dedicated to preserving native ecosystems and promoting ecological restoration through hands-on conservation efforts.

Pleasant Valley Conservancy, located in southern Wisconsin, is a 140-acre natural area dedicated to the restoration and preservation of native oak savanna, prairie, and wetland ecosystems. Established by Tom and Kathie Brock, the conservancy has been a model for ecological restoration, featuring a blend of scientific research and hands-on conservation work. Their efforts focus on restoring the landscape's natural biodiversity through prescribed burns, invasive species control, and native species reintroduction. Pleasant Valley Conservancy also serves as an educational resource, offering opportunities for the public, volunteers, and researchers to engage in conservation work and learn about the importance of protecting Wisconsin's unique ecosystems.
